About Isaiah Daniel

I'm Isaiah Daniel, a software engineer based in Abuja. Most of my work is the part of a product people never see: the APIs, data models, payment flows, queues and cloud infrastructure that have to keep working when traffic spikes, networks drop and money is moving.

I've spent the last several years building backend systems for banking, payments, payroll, logistics, mobility and media products, usually in NestJS and Node.js on PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis, deployed on AWS. I've led small teams, owned infrastructure end to end with Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes, and cut one company's AWS bill by about half by right-sizing what it actually ran.

I also build the clients when a product needs them: React and Next.js on the web, React Native and Expo on mobile. Right now I'm moving deeper into AI engineering, pairing Node.js services with Python and FastAPI for recommendation and assistant features.

I care about correctness more than cleverness: idempotent payments, database constraints that hold when the cache doesn't, and launch checklists that test what users actually do. I write about that on my blog.
